Hope and Development Sponsors Volleyball Tournament
August 2010: Youth and adults alike participated in a community wide volleyball tournament. The tournament was held in Villa El Carmen’s Central Park. Five teams competed in the day long tournament with a total attendance of 80 players. The teams represented the communities of Santa Rita, La Calle, Villa El Carmen, La Ceiba, and Samaria. In total this included 30 ladies and 50 men. With only $70 we were able to provide volleyballs, refreshments, and a trophy for the winning team. This community event brought together young and old, male and female for a day of competition and fun! There was so much enthusiasm and community spirit we would love to see this happen on a more frequent basis.
